FFA holds annual Breakfast to kick off National FFA week


Columbia  FFA kicked off National FFA week with their annual Breakfast held at Hickman High School on Saturday, February 15, 2014. 130 members, family and friends were in attendance to help celebrate the accomplishments of the chapter. Guests were treated to a breakfast of scrambled eggs, homemade sausage, biscuits, gravy and fruit as they heard inspiration from Dr. Monty Kerley, University of Missouri professor of Animal Nutrition and parent to chapter president, Lainyn Kerley.
Chapter advisers are Chuck Miller, Larry Henneke, Kevin Duncan, Meridith Thornton and Sherie Rodekohr.

As part of the celebration of National FFA week, several activities are planned including:


  • Sunday-FFA Sunday at Forum Christian Church
  • Monday-Ice Skating at Washington Park in Jefferson City
  • Tuesday-Battle of the Genders at CACC
  • Wednesday-Pizza and Movie nigh at CACC
  • Thursday-Bowling at Town and Country Lanes
  • Friday-FFA dress day

The National FFA Organization is a national youth organization of 579,678 student members as part of 7,570 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the live of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
