GIS Student named to International team
Congratulations to CACC Geospatial Technology student and Southern Boone High School junior, Allyssa Johnson, for being selected as a member of the Global Connections and Exchange Youth TechCamps: My Community, Our Earth Program. Allyssa was one of the 10 US students chosen out of 100 applicants who will be traveling this summer to Panama. Once there, they will be teamed up with local students where they will be use geotechnologies to develop community projects that address climate change. Additionally, Michael Harrington, a sophomore from Battle High School was selected as an alternate for the Bolivia team. Geospatial instructor, Laura Estabrooks is proud of these students and complements the faculty and staff who assisted with the application and interview process.
