Urban Conservation Class partners with City of Columbia Community Garden Project
Larry Henneke's Urban Conservation class was recruited by the City of Columbia to help build raised beds for the Urban Community Garden project. Students used class time to design and construct wooden structures to serve as raised beds to be placed at various locations around Columbia. Mike Heimos, Stormwater Educator for the city, spearheaded the effort by supplying the materials and getting the students to help load and deliver the finished product. Stephens College Day Care and Boone County Health Center's Unite 4 Health Community Garden were the recipients of Mr. Henneke's class project.
