Hummert International Award for Horticulture Students

The Hummert Horticulture Award is presented annually to one Columbia Area Career Center student in recognition of outstanding achievement in the areas of Horticulture and/or Floral and Plant Design. The award is designed to honor a senior student who is well-rounded, has done well acdemically, has been creatively active in the pursuit of horticulture as a discipline of study and as a future profession. The $100 award, presented by  instructor, Sherie Rodekohr, goes to Alan Rees. Rees has taken Greenhouse Production, Advanced Horticulture, Horticulture Internship and Independent Study in Greenhouse Production. Rees plans on studying  Horticulture and EthnoBotany at Antioch College after traveling abroad for a year.
