Grasslands teams advance to State Competition

Congratulations to the FFA and 4-H Grasslands teams for placing first in their divisions at the District Grasslands contest held in Macon, Missouri on October 2, 2014. The FFA team consists of Rory James, Joe Ege, Kassie Rankin and Asa Linneman. The 4-H team consists of Thomas Fenner, Elizabeth Fenner, Charlotte Soldner and Avery Linneman. This year's teams are coached by Meridith Haley. The teams will advance to the state competition in Ashland, Missouri on October 16, 2014.  The Grassland Evaluation contest measures four areas of knowledge: Grassland Condition, Soil Evaluation, Wildlife Habitat and Plant Identification. Each of these factors must be considered in evaluating pastures or grasslands to best utilize the resource and to help make useful management decisions.
