Links to Learning Grant Winners announced

Barb Mayer from Assistance League of Mid-Missouri visited Columbia Area Career Center on Friday, October 10 bearing balloons, candy and good news for two Columbia Area Career Center instructors. Electronics instructor and FIRST Robotics  "Army Ants" advisor Tony Kindwall,  was the recipient of a $700.00 Links to Learning grant which will be used on materials to build the robot and to help cover transportation costs for robotic competitions.

The second recipient, Julie Purcell, Project Lead the Way Engineering instructor, was awarded a $480.00 Links to Learning grant for Principles of Engineering students to attend Mizzou Engineering Day in the spring.

This year Assistance League awarded 195 Columbia Public School teachers grants worth over $99,000. The Assistance League of Mid-Missouri is a not-for-profit volunteer organization serving the needs of adults and children in Columbia through philanthropic programs.
