Students attend Bradford Farm Ag Education Field Day

Members of Larry Henneke and Meridith Thornton's Ag classes from Battle High School and CACC were among the 1500 Missouri high school students who attended University of Missouri's Bradford Farm Field Day. Students got the chance to experience agriculture first hand with over 30 demonstrations and displays, including putting their hand in a fistulated cow to check out what was being digested. Students returned to the classroom enthusiastic about the opportunities available to them through ag education. For more details about the Bradford Farm Field day, click here

Congratulations to Ryan Wood for completing the testing necessary to become licensed as an EMT in the State of Missouri.  Ryan, a 2013 Hickman graduate, completed Emergency Medical Technology coursework in Bobby Horn’s EMT class last year.  Ryan is a freshman at College of the Ozarks.

Since the program's inception in 2011, Ryan is only the second student to receive his EMT certification through CACC’s EMT secondary program. The requirements to become licensed in Missouri include being 18 years or older, completion of an approved EMT course, and certification from the National Registry of EMT's.

Construction Tech class earns OSHA 10-Hour Certification

Congratulations to Eric Radmer's first year Construction Tech class for successfully completing the Career Safe Online OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Course. The online course provides basic information for entry level construction workers on job safety,  health hazards, employee rights and employer responsibilities. This certification is an industry recognized standard that will not only be beneficial to the students while on the school work site  but will add to their credentials when they are seeking outside employment. Second year Construction Tech students retained their certification from last year. The students will now focus their efforts on construction of a house to be used for Habitat for Humanity.
