Columbia Area Career Center Marketing Students make their mark at DECA International Competition in Orlando



Pete Eichholz, Anne Hickman and Scott Fuenfhausen, DECA Advisors for Columbia Area Career Center, are proud to announce the results of the DECA International competition (ICDC) that was held April 24 – 29, in Orlando, FL.

More than 18,000 of the best marketing students from around the U.S., Canada and other countries competed in the six day event.  

Hickman sophomore, Ana Tager finished in the Top 10 in the Principles of Hospitality and Tourism event. She competed against more than 150 individual to take one of the top spots.

Another Hickman student also scored individual honors at ICDC. Senior Lily Burns medaled for having a role play in the top percentile for the competition. Lily competed in Human Resources Management event.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
