DECA students visit State Capitol for Legislative Day

February 12, 2014 was ACTE/CTSO Legislative Day in Missouri. Hickman senior, Kalei Wilson, Rock Bridge sophomore, Courtney King and DECA advisor, Pete Eichholz traveled to Jefferson City to speak with state legislators about the importance of Career and Technical Education and Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO). As marketing students and members of DECA, the national organization for marketing students, Kalei and Courtney experience firsthand the benefits of both career education and the student organization associated with their program. During their visit to the capitol, they met with State Representative Stephen Weber and State Senator Kurt Schaefer to tout the role DECA has played in their lives. In addition, the students were invited into the house Chamber and were present in the House Lounge where the Governor signed the official proclamation declaring it CTSO Day.
