SkillsUSA district results

Columbia Area Career Center  had 17 students compete in five events at the SkillsUSA District competition held on Friday, February 14, 2014 in Sedalia, Missouri. Individuals placing 1st or 2nd advance to the state contest held April 2-5, 2014 at Linn State Technical College. Congratulations to the state qualifiers:
Jacob Toler in Carpentry, Brandon Banton in Architectural Drafting, Austin Renwick and Jesseca Murphy in Technical Drafting, and Jon Antel in Computer Maintenance Technology. 

28 additional students will also compete at the state level in the areas of 3D Modeling and Animation, Broadcast news production, Career Pathways Showcase (Science, Technology and Math), Engineering Technology and Design, and Internetworking. These students were not required to participate in a qualifying event.

Culinary and Baking and Pastry SkillsUSA districts will take place February 22, 2014 at Columbia Area Career Center.
