Arden Boyer-Stephens Scholarship recipients named

Congratulations to Rock Bridge seniors, Maddie Grant and Katy Shi, recipients of the 2014 Arden Boyer-Stephens' Scholarship.   This scholarship was established by Columbia Missouri National Education Association (CMNEA) to honor of Arden Boyer-Stephen's commitment to the Columbia Area Career Center and recognizes students who are pursuing a degree from an accredited college in an area related to their CACC program of study. Dr. Boyer-Stephens retired in June 2010 from Columbia Public Schools after being employed for twenty-three years at Columbia Area Career Center where she served as a Vocational Evaluator, Vocational Resource Educator, Administrative Assistant, Assistant Director and Director. This year CMNEA awarded two $750 scholarships. The awards were presented by CMNEA representative Michelle Shepard.

Maddie Grant's CACC courses include Animal and Veterinary Science, Advanced Animal Science, Wildlife Conservation and College Composition. As a member of Columbia FFA, Maddie has competed on 3 Career Development Event teams, including the National Champion Poultry Evaluation team in 2012 and has earned her State FFA Degree. Maddie is a Rock Bridge senior and plans on studying Animal Science at the University of Missouri.

Katy Shi, completed course work in Computer Science. Katy is a Rock Bridge senior and plans on studying engineering at Stanford University.
