CACC Marketing Students make their mark at DECA International Competition in Atlanta

Pete Eichholz, Anne Hickman and Scott Fuenfhausen, DECA Advisors for Columbia Area Career Center, are proud to announce the results of the DECA International competition (ICDC) that was held May 2 – 7 in Atlanta, GA.

More than 17,000 of the best marketing students from around the U.S., Canada and other countries competed in the six day event. 

Nate Horvit and Jack Schimpf of Rock Bridge finished in the Top 10 in Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making event. They competed against more than 200 teams to take one of the top spots on the final day of competition.

Two students also scored individual honors at ICDC. Loyal Carpenter and Brandi Dye (both of Hickman) medaled for having a written exam in the top percentile for the competition.

 DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
