Dahnya Rogers Awarded Martha A. Rayl Memorial Scholarship

Congratulations to Dahnya Rogers, recipient of the Martha A. Rayl Memorial Scholarship, awarded May 9, 2013 at Columbia Area Career Center's Outstanding Student Ceremony. Dahnya is a Rock Bridge Senior who will be attending The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York pursuing her Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and Bachelors of Professional Management Studies. The Scholarship was established in 2001 in honor of Martha A. Rayl, mother of CACC Culinary instructor Jeff Rayl. Martha Rayl was an ardent supporter of public education, having served over 15 years as a PTA member and School Board member for the Grandview C-4 School District. She also was instrumental in starting the Grandview Center for Alternative Instructional Resources.This $1,500 Scholarship is to encourage and assist CACC Advanced Culinary students in pursuing Culinary School after graduation. The award was presented by Chef Jeff Rayl and his daughters, Lorin and Tatum.
